DOWELLZYM AL50

High activity acid protease

DOWELLZYM AL50 is high activity acid protease.

Chemical & Physical Data:

Appearance   Beige powder

pH(1%):         5.0~8.0

Properties:

lDOWELLZYM AL50 can be applied for acid bating of hides and skins (after normal bating), for bating of pickled pelts, wet-blues and the vegetable-synthetic crust leathers.

lDOWELLZYM AL50 can open up the fiber gently and deeply without grain looseness. DOWELLZYM AL50 can greatly improve softness and fullness. DOWELLZYM AL50 can enhance the soft, pleasant handle of leather.

lDOWELLZYM AL50 removes wrinkles and imparts fine grain. A significant increase in the surface area yield is obtained.

lDOWELLZYM AL50 can improve the dyeing levelness of leather.

Application:

lDOWELLZYM AL50 can be used for bating of pickled pelts, wet-blues and the vegetable-synthetic crust leathers by adding directly in powder form at the range of pH 2.5-5.0.

lA) Multiple bating

After the normal bating process, DOWELLZYM AL50 can be used in the pickle float as a supplementary bating process. Add DOWELLZYM AL50 together with common salt at the beginning of pickling and run 10-20minutes, then adjust the pH to 3.0-5.0 with formic acid and control the float temperature in the range of 24-26°C (should not exceed 28°C) . After acid bating is completed add more acid to lower the pH and run until the desired pH is achieved prior to the addition of Chrome tanning.

lB) On pickled pelts

Pickled pelts that have not been bated enough in the previous processes could be re-treated with DOWELLZYM AL50. It can help to open up the fibre structure further and reduce or eliminate the wrinkles, creases & folds created during the storage. Add pickled pelts into a float at 6-7°Be of common salt, and adjust pH to 3.0-5.0 with sodium bicarbonate. Then add DOWELLZYM AL50 and run until the desired effect is achieved. After the bating treatment, add acid to lower the pH of the float to a level required for the chrome tannage..

lC) On wet blues or crusts

DOWELLZYM AL50 can also be applied on wet blues or crusts to get further improvement in wetting, softness, fullness and remove wrinkles etc. Before the addition of DOWELLZYM AL50, it is better to de-chrome and wash the wet blues or crusts thoroughly. The pH of the wet blues or crust is adjusted to 3.0-5.0, and temperature is controlled up to 55-60°C (in common case, the activity increase with temperature).Add 0.5%-3.0% DOWELLZYM AL50  directly into the drum and run for 1-2hrs, then set the drum to run on a timer automatically for a total treatment time of 4-24hrs. DOWELLZYM AL50 can be applied directly  in powder form(if it is diluted, add immediately to avoid drop in enzyme activity), if other chemical required to be added, they should be added after 30 minutes running with DOWELLZYM AL50 to avoid the affect from high concentration of chemicals.
