Since its establishment in 2017, the Chemical Research Institute of Sichuan Dowell Science and Technology Inc.,Sichuan Dowell Science and Technology Inc. has gathered over 50 professional and technical talents, including 5 senior engineers and 17 master's degree holders. They focus on core work such as technical research and development, product development, detection and analysis, and scientific and technological project management of fine chemicals. The research institute is equipped with over 37 million yuan worth of various research and development equipment. It has successfully fostered a highly innovative technical team with industry-leading expertise, providing strong support for the company’s rapid growth and its ongoing leadership in the sector.

As a provincial-level enterprise technology center in Sichuan Province, Dowell Chemical Research Institute also has an academician workstation and has established the Dowell Research Institute, a national engineering laboratory for clean leather technology, in Chengdu and Shanghai respectively. At the same time, the research institute has established long-term and stable industry university research cooperation relationships with multiple higher education institutions such as Sichuan University, Sun Yat-sen University，East China University of Science and Technology.

As of May 2024, the research institute has won 7 national level honors and 3 provincial and ministerial level honors, and has led or participated in the development of 1 international standard and 4 industry standards. As of now, the research institute has obtained a total of 87 authorized patents, of which invention patents account for a significant proportion, reaching as many as 66.
